Pancho Villa's is a family of Mexican restaurants, named after the famous moustached Mexican bandit, Pancho Villa. Pancho Villa became a revolutionary in early 20th Century Mexico and in true Robin Hood style robbed the rich to help the poor– and had fun doing it!

Pancho Villa's owner, Mexican-born Mayra Nuñez brings some of Pancho’s revolutionary spirit to Scotland with her home cooked, lively Mexican food, modelled on the food she grew up with in Mexico.

Situated in the centre of the very popular centre district of Merchant City in Bell Street Pancho Villa's has proved very popular with office workers and locals since opening in 1997.

At Pancho Villa, we pride ourselves on creating fresh, authentic Mexican dishes with a modern twist. In Mexico, food preparation can take all day, so to be a chef at Pancho Villa is no 'paseo in the parque'- our chefs are in at the crack of dawn, mashing avocados for guacamole, chopping chillies – we use over twelve different chillies in our dishes - and squeezing loads of fresh Mexican limes for making Margaritas.

We love to cater for large parties, informal gatherings and also for customers who want a quiet but interesting evening discovering Mexican cuisine and discussing Mexican culture – after all Like Water for Chocolate is a wonderful evocative Mexican book all about food, love, passion - and revolutionaries!
